Today I am showing you a variation of the Mahl Stick position. By this point, you have already tried all the postures and identified the one you feel most comfortable with. The body posture that works best for me is the one I showed you on DAY 1, using the mahl stick and the pallet. That posture is the one most of the 'Old School Sign Painters'. For me, it gives me the most space to move and helps me to keep my back upright. However, from time to time I use 'hand over hand'; it just depends on what I'm painting. A good exercise is to alternate body postures while painting the same stroke several times. By doing this you will see which posture allows you to paint your strokes more smoothly and feel more relaxed.
