Learning this step is very important! When you palette properly your brush properly, you give it the right form, significantly improving your strokes.
TIPS:
- Some of my students struggle to get a wide stroke. This is usually because they palette the brush at the wrong angle. Try rotating your brush with your fingers when you palette. You will notice that the brush seems to turn wider in a particular position and thinner in another. The wider side is the correct side to palette your brush.
Ok, it's finally time to use your new brush. We left it soaking in oil for a minimum of 24 hours. Now we need to remove the oil using white spirit.
